West Somerset Railway Spring Steam Spectacular
A short trip to the West Somerset Railway, for the Spring Steam Spectacular. With the price of coal increasing dramatically of the last year, steam galas have become all the more rarer. However, this didn’t deter the West Somerset Railway from having an intensive timetable, though it wasn’t really a timetable when it was almost 1 hour behind schedule come the end of the day, rather, a rough guide. A couple of locomotives visiting for the weekend, No. 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’ , No. 2999 ‘Lady of Legend’ and my personal favourite, No. 34027 ‘Taw Valley’ in her wartime livery. These accompanied the full times at the West Somerset Railway, including 2 manors, 1 large prairie, 1 pannier, and a mogul.
